Dan Scheld N-Sci President, Director, Business Development

Dan's experience base ranges from back to his first job as a steelworker to the founding (with a little help from friends) of the N-Sci Company. In between he has held various positions of with United Engineers, Watsco Manufacturing, Jade Systems Corp, Hughes Aircraft Co., Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, on to being a Co-Founder of the Equinox Interscience company in 1997.

Mr. Scheld was Vice President and Director of Engineering at Equinox. In addition, being a small business, Mr. Scheld took on the effort to market and the promote the company capabilities & products. This effort lead to the award of key programs out the AFRL and NASA for various Instruments and Components. Mr. Scheld also led the Deep Sky Black and Special Project areas at EI. The DSB team produced quality black surfaces for a wide variety of customers. The Special Projects team perused novel new concepts, for example, the Mars Glider approach for future Mars Missions which included the Mother Goose Mars Scout effort.

While at Martin, he pushed several new optical technology initiatives and IRADs. These included concepts such as the Launch Fleet Data Transducer (LFDT) and the Optical Ignition Detection System (IGDET). He worked for some time in the Payloads, Sensors, & Instruments Group at Martin on several Mars Instrument and Spacecraft projects, including Mars 98/Mars 01 Landers. While working within this group he was assigned as Program Manager for all Martin Black projects.
