PRESS RELEASE

Date: 6/17/05

Arvada, CO: N-Science Corporation (N-Sci) announces completion of its inaugural contract with Sandia National Laboratory (SNL).

N-Science Corporation is a small business that builds and operates instruments for the science community. N-Sci also provides instrument products at the component level, for example Deep Space Black surface treatments and Sensor Subsystems. N-Sci instrumentation is applicable to a wide range of customers, from the researcher in the lab to planetary space flight hardware. The team at N-Sci has been involved in the development of Scientific Instruments and Components offering high performance and reliability for many years.

The new company has been organized to provide services and products in the three areas:

Payloads, Sensors, and Instruments (PSI); Deep Space Black™ (DSB) products: and Concepts & Missions Development (CMD).

The SNL contract involved production of the companies’ low reflectance "black" optical surface called DEEP SPACE BLACK. N-Science has partnered with Advanced Surface Technologies of Arvada, CO in production of DSB. A new organization, N-Sci/AST Optical Surfaces, is responsible for all aspects of DSB engineering and production.

The PSI team is perusing new business in science instruments with several customer organizations including NASA, DoD, SETI, and NSF. New alliances have been formed with SETI, Broad Reach Engineering, Honeybee Robotics, Aeroventions, New Mexico Institute of Technology, University of Kentucky and others in the continued efforts to promote new and advanced science instrument concepts. At this time N-Sci and its partners are preparing proposal responses to the current NASA/ROSES (Research Office of Space and Earth Science) request for proposals.

The CMD area is essentially the N-Sci R&D arena. These are internal company efforts on new science mission concepts, science instruments and components. CMD also provides research into improvements to existing processes for extension to new applications, for example, more advanced applications for Deep Space Black.
